CHRISHALL LOCAL HISTORY RECORDER’S REPORT FOR 2006

Most of our records are taken from research done by Mrs Irene Cranwell over many years and are in her own handwriting. We are in the process of documenting these records.

Mr Robert Walden, resident of Chrishall, has a village website and often requests old photographs – we hope to elaborate on the history to go with them with a website of our own.

A donation of church magazines for 16 parishes around Saffron Walden from 1913-27 has recently been received by Mrs Cranwell. These were in a private collection and they contain some very interesting information on activities at that time. I hope to highlight some of these articles in a separate booklet.
