Royal Wedding Day Celebrations

29th June 2011

On 29th April 2011 between 3pm–5pm FELSTED village celebrated the marriage of HRH Prince William and Catherine Middleton at the British Legion and Holy Cross Church.The British Legion Hall and car park was opened to the public with lots of tables serving sandwiches, cakes and drinks between 3-3:30pm. The atmosphere was vibrant displaying colourful banners that flapped in the mild breeze and lots happy laughter amongst the families and friends on the warm day.

The Holy Cross Church displayed 12 Wedding dresses accompanied with a photograph of the bride with her groom wearing the dress. This was organized by Paula Hatcher and her aim was to have a dress for each decade. Paula managed to get a dress from 1930’s to 2010. Over 220 tickets were sold from Paula Hatcher, British Legion, Linsells and Bakers Deli for £1.

The Three Horseshoes, Bannister green On the 29th April 2011 from 11:00am the ‘Three Horseshoes’ was opened to the public, decorated with British Flags and outside there were tables selling various items to celebrate the day.
