"Strethall’s
oldest house is Manor Cottage. Formerly
known as “Motts”, this 15th century
hall house with a solar at one end, was probably built c.1435 as a
dower house for Margaret Bredewardyn after the death of her husband, a
Lord of the Manor in
the first half of that century."
