Duddenhoe End
Duddenhoe
End is a small settlement linked to Elmdon, but it has a remarkable
amount of history of its own. Anyone wanting to know about the history
of this charming little hamlet is strongly recommended to read the
three volumes by Olive Harvey. They are packed with illustrations and
oral history, and well written. All three volumes are now out of print and, since the author has died, there are no plans for a reprint. However they can all be read at Saffron Walden Town Library.
The other two volumes were launched in 2008 - the photo above shows the
author, Olive Harvey, at the book launch in Duddenhoe End village hall.
